on a cold snowy day a young boy was walking home from school
when he looked to the sky and noticed the peculiar shapes of the clouds
he smiled and watched them shift and change to many different shapes while he continued to walk home
once he got home he found his house empty
which was strange for his family
they were always waiting for him
the young boy felt extremely tired so he decided to go take a nap in his room
however when he walked down the hall to his door he felt that something was strange
he opened the door only to find that is was not his bedroom waiting for him on the other side
but instead a room he have never seen before
this room was not an ordinary room but instead was fill with hundreds of lamps
all kinds of lamps, hanging lamps, tall lamps, short lamps
and they were all lite with different colored bulbs so the room was
illuminated with a rainbow of colors
the boy walking into the room mesmerized
look at each lamp
the boy was then startled as the room began to shake
the lamps flickering
and then all of a sudden switching off
putting him into complete darkness
as his eye adjusted he noticed a small light in the distance
he began to follow it
as he approached he realized the light was a small
plain, and bare desk lamp
with no lamp shade
he realized that this was no ordinary lamp
it had no plug, no place for batteries, nor an on or off switch
it was just shining
the boy picked up the lamp and decided to carry it with him
the boy walked and walked and walked in the darkness carrying the eternal light
until he came upon a fence
he decided to follow the fence since he had no idea where he was
as he followed the road his surroundings began to become familiar
he realized he was walking down the same street he walks home from school
he was back in his home town, surrounded by darkness
the boy being scared and along in the darkness hugged his lamp even closer
he accidentally trips and drops the lamp on the street
the bulb breaking
the light from the bulb shoots through the sky
illuminating everything in sight
with pure joy and happiness the boy runs home and opens the door
to find his family happy and waiting for him inside the house
